Why are plant-based butters expensive?

The nut and seed butter range is made with locally sourced all-natural ingredients and is crafted artisanally by our team of dedicated chefs in small batches. Therefore, they are priced genuinely. 

Also, the profits that are generated from the sales go towards the Bodhi Greens Foundation.

What is the shelf-life of these products?

The nut and seed kinds of butter have a shelf-life of over nine months as tested in our lab results. The granola has a shelf life of nine months while the flaxseed powder has a life of over six months.

Is there any sweetener being used in these butters?

We have not added any other ingredient to our nut and seed kinds of butter. They are all single ingredients only. However, if you would like to add some dates or some organic jaggery, that is not a bad idea.

What does whole food, plant-based mean?

Whole food, plant-based products are made with whole ingredients only like nuts, seeds, whole grains, beans, berries, fruits, herbs, spices and vegetables. They do not include ultra-processed foods that include oil, sugars, and bad salts.

How is granola beneficial to one’s body?

The granola is made with rolled oats that offer high amounts of dietary fibre, and also high amounts of protein and other essential micronutrients the unrefined sweetness, namely, organic jaggery and dates are high in dietary fibre and micronutrients over 60% of the weight of granola is nuts, seeds, dried fruits, and berries, making our granola the healthiest snack.

Can plant-based kinds of butter be used the same way as dairy butter?

Plant-based butters like peanut butter, almond butter or sesame butter or even cashew butter or coconut butter cannot be used as an alternative to dairy butter. 

Butter is high in fat and offers zero dietary fibre. On the other hand, plant-based butters constitute whole ingredients that offer high amounts of dietary fiber, protein, carbohydrates minerals and good fats.

Why do you produce these products in small batches?

I and our team of chefs carefully handle each part of the manufacturing process from selecting the ingredients to processing them and packaging them is all done in house by this small team.

Why do you stone-grind nuts and seeds?

Instead of using any other commercial grinder, we use traditional stone grinders that run for hours to breakdown the ingredients to an ultra fine micron grind. This process increases the bioavailability of nutrients present in those nuts or seeds and also makes them more palatable by enhancing their flavor profile. You could also do it yourself at home if you have a stone grinder and we would love to hear your experience of grinding your nuts.

What’s the ideal serving size?

A jar of peanut butter will not last long because it’s so delicious. You’d want to finish it very soon!

However, a tablespoon of peanut butter is 16 g which is about the amount you would need on a toast of bread.

How much protein is there in each serving of peanut butter?

4 g. Please don’t look at one nutrient - look at the whole nutritional profile. Peanuts are high in fibre, potassium, manganese, vitamin E, and magnesium.

Who makes these nut butters?

We are a small business dedicated to using local ingredients. I and our team of chefs carefully handle each part of the manufacturing process - from selecting the ingredients to processing and packaging them. Therefore, our products speak for their quality.

Why dates over white sugar?

We use dates because they are whole fruits and are loaded with dietary fiber and other micronutrients.

What are the speciality dishes at Bodhi Greens Restaurant?

At Bodhi Greens in Dharamkot, there are various speciality dishes ranging from the Buddha bowl to the Dynamite Sushi Roll to the Yellow Tofu Curry and the Hot Soba Bowl. 

The Cold section bestsellers include the Green Goddess smoothie bowl, the Tahini Mocha smoothie bowl and scrumptious salads like the Stay Upbeat or the Millet Sprouts Salad. We are also proud of our plant-based milk coffee, beverages, and non-coffee-based lattes like the Matcha and the turmeric latte. 

For desserts, our best sellers are the vegan Baku cake and the Almond Chocolate Mousse Cake. Don’t forget to try the Vanilla Cashew Ice Cream.

What are the cuisine options available?

At Bodhi Greens, we serve Middle Eastern, Asian, and Indian cuisine infused with an array of international dishes. 

The burger and the pizzas are modern California-style dishes while our desserts are French-inspired. 

We can proudly say Bodhi Greens is a multi-cuisine restaurant that specializes in plant-based cuisine.

Are the dishes whole food plant-based (WFPB)?

The majority of our menu offers whole food plant-based options. 

While we do not use refined oils, ultra-refined salts, chemicals or preservatives in our food, some dishes have oils like sunflower and coconut oil, and even cacao butter. Therefore the restaurant is not entirely whole foods, plant-based.

Are the dishes gluten-free?

Most of the dishes are gluten-free or can easily be made gluten-free. We are proud of using a wide variety of millets, buckwheat, and other grains like black rice, quinoa and sorghum that are naturally gluten-free and offer incredibly high amounts of dietary fibre, protein, and other micronutrients.

What are the substitutes used for meat and dairy?

We do not necessarily need meat or dairy alternatives to make dishes taste good. Our traditional food in India is primarily plant-based and does not call for the use of dairy alternatives or meat. However, at the restaurant, we do use homemade non-GMO, organic soya milk, tofu and yoghurt-based preparations. We also make our homemade versions of mock meats, plant-based cheeses and plant-based condensed milk.

Do you offer a refund in case a customer is dissatisfied with the dishes?

If you are dissatisfied with our service, please report it to the manager and if you have a genuine concern about the food, we will not charge for your food.

Will these dishes cause allergy or any other health condition?

If you have sensitivity or allergy towards nuts or any dietary preference, please raise your concern to our Manager.
